At First Methodist Dublin, we believe in fostering a strong sense of community through faith. Our mission is to bring people together in worship and service, creating disciples of Jesus.

We are an independent Methodist church not affiliated with the United Methodist. In recent years, many Methodist congregations across Texas faced a decision about their future, and First Methodist Dublin was no exception. After prayerful discernment, our congregation chose to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church and continue as an independent, Bible-based Methodist congregation. This was not a rejection of our heritage but a recommitment to it — we remain rooted in the Wesleyan tradition, holding to Scripture as the inspired word of God, and to the means of grace that have shaped Methodist worship and discipleship for centuries. What changed is our denominational structure; what has not changed is our conviction that faith is worked out both personally and in community, that grace reaches us before we ever reach for it, and that a life of holiness is something we grow into together, not achieve alone. We remain a congregation shaped by Wesley's convictions, simply free to live them out on our own terms, in our own community, as we have since 1900.

At First Methodist Dublin, our mission is to foster a vibrant faith community rooted in the Wesleyan tradition. We believe in creating a welcoming environment where individuals can grow spiritually through worship, prayer, and service. Our focus is on discipleship and living out the teachings of Jesus Christ daily.
